The Statue of Liberty is a creative masterpiece. This monument welcomed immigrants to the entrance of the port of New York. This statue, also a UNESCO World Heritage site, for freedom was a gift from France for the centenary commemoration of American independence. The construction of this masterpiece is seen as one of the greatest technical achievements of the 19th century. The statue was unveiled on October 28, 1886 and represents a woman holding a book and a torch. The monument stands on Liberty Island and is about 46 meter high.
